Pakistan official explains what will happen to Dahlmeier's body: "It was her dream"

Pakistan official explains what will happen to Dahlmeier's body: "It was her dream"

Laura Dahlmeier died in an accident in Pakistan. The athlete had wished to leave her body on the mountain. Authorities and management confirm this.

It is currently considered unlikely that the 31-year-old's body will be recovered. Faizullah Faraq, spokesman for the Gilgit-Baltistan provincial government, explained: "We were told that it was Laura Dahlmeier's wish to leave her body on the mountain after her death. 'I want to be buried in the mountains, that's my dream.' That was her dream. Now her wish has been fulfilled, so we are investigating whether we can leave her body there."

Dahlmeier's management also explained the athlete's wish: "It was Laura Dahlmeier's express and written will that in such a case, no one should risk their life to rescue her. It was her wish to leave her body on the mountain in this case. This also corresponds to the wishes of her relatives."

However, the vice president of the Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP), Karrar Haidri, said that if the weather permits, Laura Dahlmeier's body will be recovered.
